Balloon Festival 2

As the afternoon sun fought a valiant but ultimately futile battle to keep the ancient city of Ayutthaya blanketed in bright sunshine, the teams began their preparations to inflate and launch their balloons. We went from team to team, admiring their dedication and silently cheering them on. It was a wonderful feeling to watch each one break free of its gravitational shackles towards freedom skywards.

I was getting tired and a bit cranky, so we overruled Daddy's desire to stay for the night festivities and went for dinner instead before embarking on our journey home. Visit the official photo gallery for some of the amazing images we missed.
