Yuletide Ambiance in Bangkok

Uncle King Yu came from Singapore to Bangkok this past weekend; his parents, Dennis and Christine, came along to celebrate their 41st anniversary. The original departure from Singapore was at 7.15am, so they woke up very early to get to the airport. But it was delayed for 2 hours; when they finally got here, everyone was quite exhausted. After a sumptuous buffet lunch at Romsai, the men basically passed out in their brand new club suite at Banyan Tree Bangkok. Granny Christine had several coffees during lunch and was all perked up to play with me and listen to Andre's Khao Yai adventures.

We made plans to meet the next day for dinner at CentralWorld and experience the year end festive ambiance in Bangkok.

As we wandered around, there were simply too many choices for food. We finally decided in our guests' favour and picked an Isaan restaurant that seemed relatively popular. We were quite disappointed with the poor service, when the bungling staff goofed up every other item we ordered.

Can you guess where we went for dessert? By strong recommendation from Janelle and Andre: Buddhi Belly!

I was too busy walking around, while everyone enjoyed their healthy treats. Granny Christine was very stressed though, as she was constantly worried that I would hurt myself.

I ate my share from a sampler cup. Mommy refilled it several times from her cup, when Daddy was not looking, hee hee...

Daddy, keep your eyes on this Tiger, not that Thai girl! Singapore's very own Tiger Beer had a theme pub just outside CentralWorld; it seemed a perfect place for the men to chill and enjoy some Barclays Premier League Soccer action, washed down with the world's greatest beer. Alas, it was not to be, because the next day was a school day and Mommy needed help to get me to bed.
So it was time to say good night and bid Adieu, as we went our separate ways to hotel and home. More lights lined the roads on our journey home, but I was already looking forward to the slumber ahead...
