Manna from Heaven

Bready New Year, Everyone!

My favourite bread is right behind me.

Keep your hands off my bread!

After moving to Bangkok, we found ourselves surrounded by bakeries. Besides the little outlet inside Tops Supermarket in front of our condominium, there is the Au Bon Pain next to Tops; Saint Etoile, the Food Hall and the Gourmet Market inside Emporium at the top of Sukhumvit 24; the brand new Subway around the corner that is already threatening to be a Sunday morning fixture; a few minutes' walk away is Carrefour Rama IV, with probably the largest selection of healthy breads of various European origins and recipes.

Then there is Romsai Restaurant at the lower lobby of Banyan Tree Bangkok, where the loaves of delicious bread sit quietly in their corner, oblivious to the hustle and bustle of people piling up their plates with the buffet spread. On those shelves, you will find my favourite bread: multi-grain sunflower seed bread. Mommy and Daddy are big fans too.

It is facing serious challengers to its throne at the moment from these Carrefour upstarts: first, the multi-grain French Village bread and now the whole wheat sourdough loaf with walnuts. Regardless of the winner, one thing will remain certain. This family loves bread.

It has been many moons since the last sighting of factory bread within these walls. I sense she is fighting the urge, but Mommy will try to bake bread for us one of these day. Very soon...

Oh, I LOVE bread! But sadly, bread does not love me. I don't deal with the yeast well. *Sigh* Great post, though!

On behalf of the team, thanks for taking part in ABC Wednesday this week. :)

Must be fun living in Phuket. When I was living in NTU, many of my Ang Mo friends like to go to Phuket. But sadly, my husband doesn't like to go there.

We did go to Bangkok and my girls liked Chachuchat.

Are you going to Singapore for CNY?
