Captain Courageous Fights Chaos

What a morning! I had just recovered from fever yesterday, so my appetite had not returned. Mommy tried in vain to coax me into having some of my favourite breakfasts: fried egg, delicious whole wheat bread with cheese and cherry tomatoes. Worried that the fever might be lingering, she then tried to entice me to drink more water by letting me drink from a mug with a straw. Finally she gave up and went back to cooking. She came up with pasta as Plan A and shrimp balls as Plan B. Plan B it was, and the smile of satisfaction on her face was priceless.

But the moment of bliss was fleeting. Now that I started eating, I felt thirsty and went for the mug. Instead, I toppled it and got water all over the couch. Mommy rushed from the kitchen and tried to contain the spill, but it was too late. She used a cloth to soak up most of the water, before moving the couch to dry by the window. On the way to the window, it fell off and landed on the dining table, knocked over the vase, which shattered all over the room. She had to set the couch down to work on the second spill, while I sat on the wet couch and watched her in super-charged action.
Mommy was determined to keep the miniature bamboo that was rendered homeless by the accident. She tried out 4 different spare vases, before settling reluctantly on the ugliest of them all, which was the only one tall enough to hold the plant. After finding a safe spot for the couch by the window, she fed and bathe me. It was almost 1pm, before I fell asleep in my cradle. Mommy was exhausted and famished. She dashed off a quick note to Daddy of her playing Larry, Curly and Moe all by herself. She finally settled down with a bowl of noodles and some soothing music to recover from her morning of misadventures...
