Scenic B&W

Not your usual scenic spot... This "Market on the Railway" is located in Samut Songkhram, not far from Bangkok. The main market lies next to the tracks, but for those who could not afford the rent, they decided to lay their wares and produce just off the tracks. The train passes through several times a day; in between, shoppers walk along the tracks and take their time to choose and haggle as usual. Just minutes before each train arrival, the stall owners make well-rehearsed adjustments to get their goods out of harm's way and restore everything as soon as the choo-choo passes.

WOW, this is a most dangerous way of doing business. I feel for the poor merchants. I dare say, there have no doubt been many accidents.

A marvelous shot though, at the reality of life. Thank you, Serline. You capture the moments of rawness with silent beauty.

Makes me want to go down on my knees and thank my lucky stars:
That closeness, the noise and the food on the ground, that approaching train: my idea of an absolute nightmare. Thank you for making us see how fortunate we are to be able to go to the indoor foodmart.
