Shophouses

Located between Sukhumvit Soi 22 and 24, our condo complex straddles the invisible but almost tangible line that separates rich and poor. Although we have now lived in Bangkok for over a year, we have hardly ventured into the other side till now...

And when we do, what we witness are the necessities of everyday life and work in just 4 x 8 metres, the floor area of an average Bangkok shop-house, crammed full to the last centimetre.

You have so eloquently stated the reality in which most of the world lives. There truly does exist an invisible line ... sadly. Personally, I think it wise to cross that line often, so that we are reminded of life's fragility and that we do not forget our neighbors. For they too have wants, needs, desires, and loving hearts.

Serline, I LOVED the comment you left on my post, "An Impetuous Heart" What an enchanting notion that in Korea, loved ones celebrated the first snowfall so romantically. I was deeply moved by the revelation.

I also wanted to tell you, how beautifully you write... your words are like an unchained melody. For they flow ever so freely, with heart, and graceful beauty. They are a true treasure to absorb.
