Dance and Drum Performance

We enjoyed the Chinese New Year festivities at the K-Village Lifestyle Mall last Saturday. It was a little slow in the beginning, with some cultural performances and the brief introduction of the lion dance troupe before they went around to spread prosperity to all the shops.
Where are the lions going? Come back...
Not quite the thousand hands of the Goddess of Mercy, but we get the idea ;-)
This boy is not much older than I, but I am impressed by his drum skills and bravery.
Sorry, I'm not the one with the money...
I guess they are not real lions, after all ;-P
Wow, Bangkok's own Wong Fei Hung...
Hey, aren't you afraid of heights?
He climbs up the tall pole as well...
... and from that lofty height, they shower blessings upon us all!
A final bow... no encore?
I was glad we stayed on for the main lion dance performance. Although it was past my usual nap time, the weather was hot and the noise was deafening, I was enthralled by the thrilling performance and seemingly death defying stunts till the end. I gave them some Red Packets as a token of appreciation.

Beautiful!

I don't get to see any Lunar New Year celebrations here, so I'm very happy that you shared yours with me!!

I guess CNY celebrations everywhere are similar. :) Great that Narelle didn't seem to mind the loud noises. Z didn't like that one bit, although she was enthralled with the lion dance.

What stunning images! Baby is so cute too in pink. I love the image of the dancers the most. Striking pattern their arms and nails make.

Looks like you all had a lot of fun despite the noise and heat!
