Forced Relocation

Typical evening at Benjasiri Park...
... where thousands of pigeons nest and brood.
One afternoon last week, some strange folks arrived with nets and other contraptions.
Where are you people taking the birds?
Back to nature and a more suitable habitat?
"Where did all my neighbours go?"

That's a lot of birds! Glad they take them back into nature! The one of the pigeon with his feathers all fluffed is great!

I love pigeons ... I love their cooing sound. This time of year, I often find myself honing in on their soft singing spells and feel so relaxed. They are such peaceful birds.

There is a mixed ending to this story. Quite a few birds did not survive the stressful transition; they did not even make it to the truck (heart attack?!) and were stuffed in giant black rubbish bags. From news reports about other such relocations, those that survived the truck ride would have been released in the forests in a nearby province, so unless they were professional homing pigeons, they would not find their way back. Looking on the bright side, park goers have a cleaner and quieter environment... until other pigeons nearby move in to fill the vacated turf.

the pigeon post reminds me of the many pigeons we have here, these birds kinda think they're human, you can walk beside them, and they wont even care.. hahhaa, but its good, then we can go up close to take pictures of them... hahhaa :)
