Service Sunday

Throughout Thai history, the elderly have been
The glue of the family, pillar of community
But times have changed, and they are now seen
As nothing more but a burden to society

Abandoned by children, their burdens compounded
Raising grandchildren, their pains were acute
To care for them Ruth Center was founded
For every life counted, even the old and destitute

So for Service Sunday, we cared for the young
Be their brothers and sisters, if just for a day

When they arrived, with wide eyes and a timid tongue
To their party, slowly they made their way

Seeking His blessing, to God we prayed
In His mighty hands this day we laid

His love so swiftly touched every heart
The room overflowed with laughter and joy

Not sitting idle, adults played their part
To prepare a feast for all to enjoy

Soon 'twas midday
Our hearts brimmed with gratitude
Grace we did say
Asking blessings for the food

The ice-cream was cold, but our hearts were warmed
For a smile remained on every little face

Every soul present was somehow transformed
By the time we left the magical place

Farewell, our little friends, may the Lord protect you
Cherish the memories, we'll always remember you

Sweet Shot Day

Serline, far and few take the time to help others without asking for anything in return. You have a beautiful heart and soul ... thank you, for giving your time and love to those who were in need. It has always amazed me what just one small act of kindness can do for another living soul. Warmest regards and hugs ...

This made my heart smile. It is sad how the elderly become disposable.
