Little sleeping beauty... not!

I have been cranky the past few days, ever since I recovered from a little bout of fever. That Daddy went to Bangkok for three days did not help, as Mommy was the only one looking after me for the entire time. I am always seeking her attention, to carry and cuddle me, so much so that she cannot do any chore. I follow her in my walker and hold on to her legs while she bustles around the kitchen. She needs her own space too sometimes...

Daddy and Mommy are busy these few days, trying to decide where to stay when we move to Bangkok. Daddy came back with a few choices shortlisted. He made a chart and ranked each place according to attributes like convenience, access to public transport, unit quality, facilities, dog friendliness, etc. As most of the places do not allow pets, we have limited choices on hand.

The 3 key things about living in Bangkok are location, Location and LOCATION. Daddy must be able to get to and from work (Sathorn), and Janelle and Andre to and from school (Sukhumvit Soi 71) easily. Daddy has confirmed that traffic jams in Bangkok are as bad as they have ever been, maybe worse.

Last but not least, I need a baby friendly environment so I can interact with other babies. We are not looking at houses even though it solves the dog issue; besides mosquitoes, rats and other pests, we have to worry about security and being isolated from other people.

Mommy and Daddy discuss this every night, after I fall asleep next to them. The three of us will probably have to make a trip to Bangkok to finalize our choice. Or maybe the answer will come to me in my dreams...

Contemplation...

Daddy will go to Bangkok this weekend to look at schools and apartments for our impending relocation. He wanted Mommy and me to go with him, but she was worried about leaving Janelle and Andre alone with the dogs at home. They finally decided Daddy would go alone, so he could cover more ground. Mommy reminded him to take the camera and bring back photos and videos of the places he would visit. I'll miss him. Here's wishing Daddy a safe and fruitful trip...

Another one?

We keep seeing pregnant women everywhere in Phuket: shopping malls, beach, resorts... Is it the latest trend? Mommy thinks Phuket is a baby making place, because life is very relaxed here, and people tend to do things at a slower pace. There are not too many distractions, so ordinary folks stay home and make babies. That's how I came about!?!

Swing Higher, Daddy!

We went to the year end musical performance at the British International School on Wednesday. After dropping Andre off at 6 for final rehearsal, there was some time before the concert started at 7, so we took a little walk around the school. I'm still too little to play at the playground by myself, but with Daddy's help, I had some fun too!

What do you mean you can't understand me? I've been practising that speech for hours...

Laguna Phuket International Marathon

Daddy dragged us all - including the doggies - to participate in the 4th Laguna Phuket International Marathon on 14 June 2009. The 5km fun walk started at 8am; we got there just as the whole group stormed out of the holding area, so we started at the very tail end. The weather was hot, but I stayed mostly sheltered inside the stroller. Mommy pushed me, while Daddy held on to Snowy and Ringo. Janelle and Andre were far behind us. Mommy was worried about me sitting too long and getting hot and thirsty, so she walked and ran way ahead and soon caught up with the main group of walkers.
Ahhh, water at last!
We are the Champions, we are the champions, no time for losers...
Don't they look exhausted!?!

Uncle Bob and Auntie Lyn got someone to prepare local Thai dishes for dinner.

Who, me?

Things I like to do in the morning...

Daddy told us we would probably have to move to Bangkok soon. Mommy thinks I will not remember the place where I spent the first few months of my life, so she wants to use this as a detailed and lasting chronicle.

Each morning, after breakfast and morning bath, Mommy puts me in my walker to play for a while before nap time. Today I had a new toy; I gripped it tightly so that I would not drop it wherever I roam. I could grasp the beach ball with my left hand and still hold the toy with my right.

I like to look out to the swimming pool. As long as the weather is good, I can look forward to an evening swim after our afternoon stroll. Mommy is afraid I will catch chills, so she will wrap me up in a towel, as soon as we get out of the pool. She has to make sure not to miss out anything, as leaving me alone even for a few seconds nowadays gives me enough time to put myself in danger - toppling out of the bathtub, falling off the bed, you name it!

I like to play with the dogs' food and water bowls. Making a mess is fun! Mommy learned the hard way to put things out of my reach. Snowy likes to be near me, but I respond by pulling her fur... sorry! Ringo is smarter and stays a safe distance away from me most of the time. But she did lick me a few times, while Mommy held on to my straining arms.

Ahhh, quarter past 10, it's nap time!

Lazy Sunday Stroll through the Sheraton

We had to do some exercises to work off the Sunday Brunch, so we decided to head over to the Sheraton Grande Laguna Phuket recreation center. Along the way, we met one of the baby elephants.

Balls Up!

Uncle Bob and Andre went mano-a-mano in a game of table tennis, while Janelle and I played billiards.
