A day out with Mommy & Daddy

Janelle and Andre went to Hae Bin and Jun's house on Saturday, so I had Daddy and Mommy all to myself. After dropping my brother and sister off at Boat Lagoon, we went to Central Festival Phuket.

Daddy and Mommy had lunch at the food hall, while I took a nap in my stroller. For once, they could eat in peace, without Janelle and Andre picking the best bits from their plates. Daddy had beef noodle soup and kway chup, while Mommy ate chicken rice; she thought about ordering from the popular "rice-and-pick-your-own-dishes" stall, but something did not smell right.

We spent a few hours window shopping. Daddy was exhausted, so we took a rest by the artificial pond and had some snacks. There were many beautiful Japanese carp in the pond. They did not seem very interested in the fish food the mall staff fed them. But when Daddy threw in some peanut skin, they came zipping in and made big splashes fighting over this "exotic" cuisine.

The Big Buddha - Part 2

When we got to the top, Mommy let me play with the bell. Boy, was it loud! It was almost as loud as my crying, after Mommy hit the bell with the hammer and gave me quite a scare.

The Big Buddha - Part 1

Since it was on the way, we took a detour and went up to the Big Buddha to have a look. I woke up when we got there. Nice views. I loved the wind chimes hung along the steps to the main statue; the tingling in the wind was charming and soothing.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace...

Daddy was off on May Day, so we went to Alpina Phuket Nalina Resort & Spa in Kata to meet Mommy's blog friend Stella and her husband Lester. They were here on a short break before heading back to Singapore and Beijing where they are currently based.

On the way home, we dropped by HomePro Village Phuket, one of the new shopping malls that has opened up in the Chalong area. After the long drive and adult talk, I was beat so I decided to take a nap while Daddy and Mommy were having lunch just outside Villa Market, under the watchful eye of the Big Buddha.

Finger Lickin' Good

I was very cranky yesterday. Daddy had to rush to his early morning meeting, and he did not have enough time to brush the dogs' fur. Mommy always finishes all the household chores by mid morning, so she can attend to me the rest of the day. She is very busy, and that extra bit was the straw that broke the camel's back.

My incessant whining and crying agitated her even more. I was crying for her to hold me but she had not finished her work. My crying spells went on and on throughout the afternoon for no apparent reason. Mommy tried all kinds of ways to calm me down; she had to multitask and eat her lunch and feed me (not fried chicken!) at the same time.

There were a few quiet moments in between, when I sat and sucked my fingers. Time to get me a pacifier?

Andre's Pet?

This lizard is Andre's favorite. It is about the size of his slipper and lives in our garden. The past 2 nights, though, it was wondering in the living room and Daddy shooed it out. I wonder what it eats...

Uninvited "Guest"

Living in Phuket, we are more in touch with nature. Often, this means we get uninvited "guests". Toads and lizards are regulars. So are giant varieties of beetles, caterpillars, centipedes and millipedes. Once in a while, we also come across land crabs and hermit crabs.

Yesterday, Mommy and I were enjoying our morning bath, when she spotted this slimy slithering serpent at the window. Luckily the mosquito netting prevented it from sneaking in... Mommy quickly took a feather duster and sent it packing. Later, she sprinkled fresh sulphur outside the house to keep snakes away.
