My favourite things

I am still a little baby, so my daily life is pretty much a routine. I have no concept of weekday, weekend or public holidays, just that most of the time, it is only Mommy and I for much of  the day. While others may find this it quite boring, it is comforting for me and Mommy does not have to crack her brain trying to think of new things for us to do together.

I'm 11! 11 months, not years, although people always comment that I look much "bigger" than my age. Although I have not made any baby friends here in Bangkok, I enjoy watching and playing with the older kids at the playground and pool in our condo complex in the evenings.

My space

Janelle always teases Andre that he is Mama's boy. As Janelle does not want to share a room with him anymore and he is too afraid to sleep alone, he now sleeps with us after we moved to Bangkok. It is alright with Mommy but not Daddy, since I have to share their super king bed even though Andre's current bed is actually meant for me. Now I still squeeze between Mommy and Daddy, and when I wake up every so often because of a nightmare or to drink milk, I tend to wake everyone up. While this arrangement is more environmentally friendly - we only need to turn on 2 air-conditioners, in Janelle's and our bedroom - but soon, Andre has to go back to his room when I need more space to sleep by myself...

IF : Germs

Mommy did not mind Snowy and Ringo sleeping on the sofa or bed, but after I was born, her cleanliness streak kicked in. She has to think of ways to keep the house clean and free of germs. Dettol is her greatest weapon. Daddy has to use it to clean the dogs after their morning walks, and Mommy lathers it generously everywhere.

Flipping through albums filled with Janelle and Andre's childhood photos,
I realized I did not have a photo taken with just Daddy and Mommy.

Mommy beamed like a first timer with a child this small.
She has diverted all her love to me; I feel so sorry for Daddy.
Married for 17 years, parents for over 13 years, doing it all again now.
We can never understand the responsibilities of parenthood,
Until we become parents ourselves.

Mommy really enjoys spending time with me.
She is cherishing the experience of being a first time mother again...
