My scrapblog

Sing your way home

Sunset is a reminder
no matter how wonderful a day has been
no matter how beautiful the things I've seen
It's time to go home with Mother
to the smells of dinner
to the splashing of bath water
to our home above
to the family I love

I'm ready to go home

Bye bye buddies, see you again tomorrow...

Cradle of Creativity

Bangkok is full of surprises. If you look hard enough, you can probably find something to satisfy every whim and fancy.

While searching for libraries in Bangkok, Daddy came across references for the Thailand Creative & Design Center (TCDC). Conveniently located near where we live - on the 6th floor of  Emporium (up the escalator from SFX Cinama on the 5th floor) - it hosts one of the largest design and creativity resource centers in Asia. There are lots of books, magazines, journals, multimedia, online database and Material ConneXion Bangkok, a global platform for material solutions and innovations.

Mom went "treasure" hunting like a kid in a candy store, and Janelle and Andre went to Kinokuniya; Daddy and I sat outside the center and watched a documentary on preserving the environment and wildlife on the large screen on the wall.

If anyone gets glassy-eyed from looking at all the colors and fancy designs, they can chill in the little cafe outside the library, which had a live band and beautiful view of Benjasiri Park.

You can tell I loved the view; if the cleaners did not do their job properly, you can still find my hand and face prints on the glass...

Do you feel dizzy looking at the blurry image?

My First Birthday

It's my first birthday today
Happy, happy, happy day!
My family's here to celebrate
And so are some of my mates
Thank you all for coming
Thank you for the presents
Thank you all for sharing
On this special occasion

Sushi, spaghetti, pastry... I'm hungry!

I'm too young for a cigar,
so this bread stick will do for me

Shhh, let me concentrate...
Cake-cutting is a serious business

Come on, Auntie Yuriko, let's go for a dip!

My world... with my little friends

We have now lived in Bangkok for a little over two months. It seems like we are finally getting some decent weather... we can actually see the sun, blue sky and clouds clearly!

Lukas and Lily are my first playmates. We met during one of my morning strolls, and because we were very close in age, we fast became friends. While the adults enjoy their chats, we kids play and share each other's toys.

Yesterday, Mommy gave them some of the balloons she bought for my birthday celebration. They were thrilled to see the big and long balloons, while I was busy walking around, climbing the steps and examining a water bottle. Mommy was quite exasperated, as we were not exactly cooperative when in came time to take group photos. Could she blame us, really? We could not understand most of what she was trying to tell us!

I'm walking on sunshine... whoa oh... and don't it feel good!

Who's following me?

Whoopee! Mommy's here with sushi for everyone!

Naughty Mommy is making such a mess with all these soap bubbles! The cleaning auntie will be angry with her...
