Our first year's lease will expire in a few months. We are starting to look around for a new home. Maybe we will extend or buy somewhere near where we are staying now. Mommy frowns whenever she thinks about having to pack again...

Good luck with house-hunting. As exciting as that sounds, I hate packing and unpacking that would come with the move. :)
Living on a one year lease is such a hassle. Fortunately, I've never have to live on a contract but my sister is currently on her yearly lease. Like you, she's looking at packing up when the lease is over. She hates it but it's the norm nowadays.

Look at the positive side! Packing is the only way to get rid of stuff you otherwise won't part with!!
