A leisurely stroll

When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see...
Those lyrics hardly apply here,
because everywhere in Singapore is so well-lit ;-)
No I won't be afraid, no I won't be afraid
Just as long as you stand, stand by me
People have often commented about how sterile Singapore is, such a "fine" city. Coming from the chaos of Bangkok, it is refreshing to be able to walk - even at night - along a nice wide path for pedestrians. No bumps or holes to navigate, no fear of being jumped or accosted, just the pitter-patter of my parents' shoes and gentle rolling of my stroller wheels.

So glad you joined this week and I'm now following you since you appear to be a regular poster. I am often told that I'll be sent to singapore and I'm glad to hear that it's safe. Great pictures and a great song.

How fortunate you are to live in a city so well maintained ... and safe. These days, that is an amenity that is hard to come by. Singapore looks quite lovely ... I would not think it sterile, I would think there is a great pride coming from the people living there! And what a lovely sound it is, to hear the pitter patter of footsteps!! :))

I heard about how clean and safe Singapore is. I remember when the American teenager was whipped for vandalizing in Singapore, that's harsh but I think if we had a law like that in my city, the city would be clean too.

I grew up in Chicago and sometimes I miss the lights of the city, but tonight is supposed to be a good chance of a meteor shower, so the darkness of a rural setting has it's advantages tonight!

It does feel safer in well lit areas. :)

Hi Serline, Majulah Singapura, where courtesy is a way of life. And yes, Singapore and Japan are 2 cities getting mugged is like winning a lottery.
The cops don't take prisoners there, ha ha.
Have fun and keep well, Lee.
