I Heart Faces | Black

I can't live without music
And if anybody is asking me why
Music makes me feel like flyin', gives me hope when I'm a-cryin'
I believe without it I would die.

Scavenger Hunt Sunday

1. Landscape

Bangkok Landscape. That tallest building on the right is where I lived.

2. Complementary or Triadic Color
All aboard the sushi boat.

3. Black and White
Old dogs, like old shoes, are comfortable. They might be a bit out of shape and a little worn around the edges, but they fit well.

4. Food
I like to make this shrimp wontons with thin egg noodles at home for a simple dinner.

5. Blank Space
That's the sunset in the background...from my bedroom window.

Scenic B&W

Not your usual scenic spot... This "Market on the Railway" is located in Samut Songkhram, not far from Bangkok. The main market lies next to the tracks, but for those who could not afford the rent, they decided to lay their wares and produce just off the tracks. The train passes through several times a day; in between, shoppers walk along the tracks and take their time to choose and haggle as usual. Just minutes before each train arrival, the stall owners make well-rehearsed adjustments to get their goods out of harm's way and restore everything as soon as the choo-choo passes.

Return to Innocence

Only those who look with the eyes of children

I have noticed...

I've noticed that being with you,
I smile more often,
I anger a little less quickly,
the sun shines a little brighter,
and life is so much sweeter.
For being with you takes me to a different place: a place called love.

Don't I look like an ajumma getting ready for sauna? Actually, I was the guinea pig of Janelle's attempt to re-create a scene in her favourite Korean sit-com... 안녕!

On the road again...

We are leaving tomorrow for a week's vacation in Phuket where I was born. Mommy doesn't want to travel too far as I am still little. So after returning from Phuket, we head back to Singapore for two weeks to visit family and friends. Janelle is bubbling over with anticipation, as she misses her Singapore friends very much.

The Fabric of Life

Both my grandmothers worked as seamstresses. Mommy knows how to sew; it was a part of her training as a fashion designer. Although she has given up her career to raise her children, she still has a passion for art and design. Whenever I take a nap, she will multi-task and edit photos, do drawings, sew/mend clothes while keeping an eye on my cradle...

Negative Effect

Where did I learn to understand sculpture? In the woods by looking at the trees, along roads by observing the formation of clouds, in the studio by studying the model, everywhere except in the schools. ~ Auguste Rodin

Cat or Mao

I like to get some fresh air every day, once in the morning with our part-time maid and once in the evening with Mommy and sometimes Daddy. I like to play with the cats, but everyone forbids me from touching them, or even getting too near to them. What's this scary thing called "Asthma" anyway, that they are so afraid I might catch from the cat? Paranoid adults! Only Mommy gets to touch and feed them with my leftover food. I don't call them cat but Mao (猫)...
Happiness doesn't depend on any external conditions,
it is governed by our mental attitude.

It is by chance that we met, by choice that we became friends.

Laughter is the best medicine

The only way to get through life is to laugh your way through it. You either have to laugh or cry. I prefer to laugh. Crying gives me a headache. ~ Marjorie Pay Hinckley

The Weekend in Black and White

Mommy woke up early this morning at 6.30am to prepare breakfast for the family. It's an easy and healthy meal to start the day. Thanks, Mommy!
